My artistic vision is grounded in Perspective and Vulnerability. Perspective allows me to see the world through multiple lenses, fostering empathy and understanding in my work. Vulnerability empowers me to connect with others on a deeper level, building strong collaborative relationships. These principles, combined with my keen eye for color, composition, and lighting, enable me to craft visually stunning and emotionally resonant images.

As a Black cinematographer, I’ve been privileged to witness and contribute to a pivotal moment in our industry. Amidst the global pandemic and the fight for racial justice, a renewed spotlight shone on diverse voices, including my own. While I embraced these opportunities, I felt a deep responsibility to give back to the community that nurtured me.

I’ve dedicated myself to mentoring emerging filmmakers through programs like Color Creative’s Find Your People and Film Independent’s Directors Workshop in Abu Dhabi. I’ve also volunteered with BLK Behind the Camera, moderating workshops and sharing my experiences with fellow Black creatives. Currently, I serve as an Adjunct Professor at Loyola Marymount University, inspiring the next generation of filmmakers.

I believe that cinema has the power to challenge societal norms and inspire positive change. As I continue my journey as a cinematographer, I am committed to using my art to amplify marginalized voices and create a more just and equitable world.
